Instagram – Social Media Terms

Instagram –

The biggest thing about the Instagram terms of service is how they can use your pictures that you post, and what you are agreeing to once you use their site. “Instagram does not claim ownership of any Content that you post on or through the Service. Instead, you hereby grant to Instagram a non-exclusive, fully paid and royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use the Content that you post on or through the Service, subject to the Service’s Privacy Policy, available herehttp://instagram.com/legal/privacy/, including but not limited to sections 3 (“Sharing of Your Information”), 4 (“How We Store Your Information”), and 5 (“Your Choices About Your Information”). You can choose who can view your Content and activities, including your photos, as described in the Privacy Policy.” They also listed in Privacy who you, as a user, give authorization to to view your personal data that you use to login, or create your account. They list multiple terms that users agree to about how they can use the site and how you can use the brand. Most users probably don’t know what they are agreeing to and could possible abuse the agreement and not even know it.

They don’t, however, have anything listed about what they would do if their was a breach of security on their site.

I have never read the terms of use, or privacy terms on any of the social sites I am a member of. Now that I have read Instagrams, it makes me reconsider what I am agreeing to, and alerts me that I should be reading the terms of service on any of the apps I have or anything that requests personal information.
