While most of us are avid users of the internet, not all us understand how public our searches and information can be. Everything and anything we do online is recorded and can be viewed by those interested in acquiring our information. This can be government agencies, media companies, hackers etc..
I dare to say that any agreement that we sign online is never really fully read. We leave so much on the table and up in the air. Facebook, Google, Amazon, Twitter, LinkedIn, and all the other social media/ buyer and seller sites have a database of its users. We constantly put our information on these sites. With the technology developments now a days, it is very easy for someone to acquire personal information from these online databases.
We need to be aware of the dangers of information sharing online. For all the information one puts online can be used against us. A simple example is an employer looking you up for the first time online. Many of the things you post on Facebook or blogs will show up online. So the internet can be a great way to promote yourself as well as a great way to demote yourself. So watch out!
