The most sleepiest time of the year…

Above is an accurate depiction of what I’ll be doing for Christmas & Holiday break.

Most of us are surely used to some sort of break toward the end of December each year. Whether it be from work, school or even family obligations, Christmas is closely associated with some form of escape from our everyday lives. At least, that’s what we hope for…right?

Well, I do, and I take full advantage of the fact that school semesters are over, or my workplace gives me some time off. Given this, there’s nothing quite like sleeping in, taking naps whenever you want, and generally being a useless sack of flesh and bones for a few days. I call this ongoing activity The Annual Christmas Sleepy Time, where any and all sleep is welcome and (usually) without consequence. This event in my life is probably a big reason I don’t have any children…

In all seriousness, I love this time of year for the breathing room I’m given from the hectic nature of “normal” life. I find it incredibly important to refocus, rest, and rejuvenate our bodies and minds.

I think Deadpool says it best: “Life is an endless series of train-wrecks with only brief, commercial-like breaks of happiness.”

I don’t take this line entirely at face value. I take it more as a reference point for something along the lines of… Life is an endless series of train-wrecks with only brief, but entirely needed breaks, to rest and restore inner-balance.

Yeah. I like that better.

Point being, take the time to center yourself when it’s given. You deserve it.
