Smiles from the Grumps

When it comes to podcasts, there is one that rules supreme. The Game Grumps are the best when it comes to directionless commentary. I adore their content and they have been the biggest inspiration when it came to the creation of my channel.

The duo consists of two exceptionally bizarre and talented YouTubers. Arin Hansen, also known as “Egoraptor”, gained popularity through his hilarious animations. His partner in crime is Danny Avidad, who is the lead singer for the comedy band, Ninja Sex Party.

The two of them play off of each other so well. Their blunt and unfiltered discussions are absolutely wonderful to listen to. I highly recommend you check them out.

Boomer Lives

Lately, I have been enjoying WTF with Marc Maron. It’s typically Marc talking to actors, comedians, musicians and even an occasional president. What makes it great is that the episodes aren’t necessarily interviews as much as they are a casual dialog between two people. Maron’s adept at getting to the heart of who the guest is deep down and why they are passionate about the things they do. I particularly enjoy the first few minutes which is usually Marc talking about his cats and love life.

An episode drops every Monday and Thursday without fail and you can subscribe at the bottom of this page.

Information with context

So much news and information is so accessible thanks to our 24 hour news cycle that 11148622_10153561175325141_7250282133947893524_nseems to change within minutes thanks to our handy smart phones. Reading a quick article about an event making news in the community and world is important. Watching a news report from a local channel or a national media source is a solid way to know what is happening but I find that these sources of information lack a solid context of what is actually happening. What I enjoy about the RadioWest podcast is depth and perspective that I’m able to gain from the host Doug Fabrizio and his guest’s. The topics can range from local issues that impact the local communities to national stories and to discussions that spark curiosity about the world.

Hidden Brain Podcast

Hidden Brain Podcast

The Hidden Brain helps people better understand themselves and the world. By incorporating science and storytelling, host Shanker Vedantam sheds light on the unconscious that influences human behavior- what molds it and triggers our relationships. This was the first podcast I listened to and it was interesting, it really caught my interests and during some instances, I was nodding my head answering “yes” to what the host asked and stated during time for show. It is different from radio yet I felt it had better flow and permitted more time to analyze.

Drummer Podcast.

I have never listened to a podcast before, but this is pretty cool to listen to as background sound, and learn at the same time.  I have never listened to a podcast before, so to hear from some of the great drummers out there is very cool. I have been listening to these podcast this afternoon, and have been getting a lot of good insight on drumming. Hearing how these drummers practice, and improve their playing is very enlightening. If your’e any kind of musician podcasts can be a great resource.

Laughter is truly the best medicine!

Image result for 1003 laughter at 45 afterI really have not got into the podcast life style but with this assignment I went out to find a good one to follow. I came across a podcast that is called Laughter at 45 after. This podcast is snips of a radio show that’s from 100.3 the sound. They play about 3 to 4 minutes of a comedians script from Jeff Foxworthy to Jim Gaffigan. It is short and sweet and to the point but gets you a good laugh for your day in s short amount of time. I truly recommend checking it out I promise you it will put a smile on your face. Uncle Joe is the DJ and here is the website to check out his podcast.
